COUPLE SHOTS

This has to be our favourite… favourite part of the day your day. Its that time after the end of the speeches and the next part of the day when the evening guests start to arrive. It’s the quiet time, where you get to be together and just be you.. Its that taking five that gives you back the energy you need before the fun stuff starts to happen.

We count it as a privilege that we can give you the excuses you need, by scheduling that needed hour in amongst your busy day.

Prior to your day we scout areas within and around your venue, and if you like we can even consider other locations if time and weather are permitting.

CAREFUL PLANNING FOR CINEMATIC IMAGES NO MATTER THE SEASON

What ever the season careful preparation and planning are needed. We have to consider varying factors from Location, weather, timing, distance and venue.

SEASONAL TIPS

  • WINTER: NOVEMBER - FEBRUARY

  • Less Daylight, available light becomes less meaning time is cut short for outdoor portraits. So before you book your ceremony, consider whats the best time for you, your guests, and your photos. I would recommend a morning ceremony (11am) This way you can start your group shots from 12 noon, and be finished by 2.30pm - 3pm which is a great time for low light couple shots.

  • Night time shots, mean studio lighting outdoors and you can get really creative if your up for something different. Just ensure you have coats that work with your outfit and keep you warm and toasty.. ( a sneaky hot water bottle or a heat pack will work wonders, well thats our trick for walking the dog).

  • SPRING: MARCH-MAY

  • Day light is changing fast, we getting more and the clocks have gone forward. So now we have more time because the sun doesn’t set till six. Careful planning and an understanding of timing can help guide you to those perfect times.

  • As a tip, it may be worth having your ceremony at 12 noon, and have your meal at 3pm, and you can have sunset shots at 5pm.. after your speeches.

  • Consider your footwear… personalised wellies can add to the fun side of things.. umbrellas too.

  • SUMMER: JUNE -AUGUST

  • The worlds your oyster when it comes to time, the only issue is the heat and potential summer storms, all though I love a good shower as it makes the weather really dynamic.

  • Tips for this part of the day, would be get crafty. You may need umbrellas for shade, or to keep you dry.

  • After the last few summers, we know how hot things can get. When your wearing suits and dresses, its even harder for you. So have set people on stand bye, with refreshments, cooling spray, and methods that will keep you comfortable.

  • Autumn: september - october

  • I love the rich hues of Autumn, but don’t be fooled into thinking it doesn’t get warm. We’ve photographed weddings at 21 - 22 degrees. That’s warmer than you think.

  • Shorter days and beautiful low in the sky sunsets… beautiful time of the year.
